How We Review

There is no editorial secret to this. A page contains the following, and nothing more.

• What the maker says. The published specification, nothing paraphrased into a claim it does not make.
• What it cost. The listing price when we read it.
• What buyers scored it. Amazon’s average, held for 2,288 of our 2,313 products.
• What it looks like. The listing photograph, available for 2,300 products.

What the number is

The star rating on a page is not ours. It is the average of the scores Amazon buyers left for that product. We pass it through unchanged; we do not weight it, adjust it or add an editorial score of our own.

No hands-on testing

This is the limit that matters: there is no hands-on testing here. We own none of this equipment. A page can tell you what the maker claims and what buyers scored it; it cannot tell you how the thing feels in year two.

Why these models

Lists are built from what is on sale under a given search. There is no paid placement on this site and no arrangement with any manufacturer.

Prices change

We store the price we read and show it. We do not claim it is live. If the figure matters to your decision, open the listing and check.

Getting something corrected

Errors get fixed in place. Send the page and the problem to the contact page — a wrong figure, a product no longer sold, or wording that claims more than we can support.
